Daiwa Foundation Japan House is the primary centre for UK-Japan exchange in central London. It has meeting rooms available from Monday to Friday, 9:30am-5:00pm (excluding bank holidays) and is conveniently located near Baker Street station (Circle, Metropolitan, Hammersmith & City, Bakerloo and Jubilee lines).

If you belong to an organization /group involved in UK-Japan relations or are planning an event or short course related to Japan or Japanese culture, please contact the Programme Director, Shihoko Ogawa, to discuss how Daiwa Foundation Japan House could accommodate your needs (please use the ‘Contact Form’ link at the bottom of this page).

There is a small room charge for using Daiwa Foundation Japan House to help cover running costs.

A highly flexible space ideal for seminars and lectures for up to 70 people in a theatre-style seating format.
£50 (1-4hours) / £100 (4-8hours)

Dining Room
(6mx4.8m; 20'x16')
A unique space with walls lined with bamboo wallpaper and framed haiku calligraphy. Suitable for meetings or informal lunches for up to 16 people.
£25 (1-4hours) / £50 (4-8hours)

Common Room
(6.2mx5.4m; 19'x18')
An informal boardroom-style space seating up to 12 people.
£25 (1-4hours) / £50 (4-8hours)

Ground Floor Library
(4.8mx5.7m; 16'x19')
A Library setting, ideal for informal meetings of up to 5 people.
£25 (1-4hours) / £50 (4-8hours)

First Floor Library

The Foundation can provide standard audio-visual equipment, such as a data projector, TV monitors and VHS video. The Lecture Room has its own public address system. If more specialist equipment is required, we suggest that it is hired separately. Kitchen facilities are available.
