JAPAN / BRITAIN SCHOLARSHIPS AT
LONDON BUSINESS SCHOOL

(2011 application deadline: 31st May 2011)

London Business School and the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation are delighted to announce the fourth year of scholarships at London Business School for outstanding Japanese and British students with a strong commitment to UK-Japan exchange.

The scholarships are funded by the Foundation and make a £10,000 contribution towards the tuition costs for one Japanese student and one British student each year. Self-financing Japanese and British students accepted onto London Business School’s MBA programme are eligible to apply for the scholarships. The British student will undertake an internship, term of exchange study or consulting project in Japan as part of the two year programme. It is hoped the awards will help to develop exceptional Japanese and British business leaders. Applications for the fourth year of the scholarships (for MBA students starting in August 2010) will close on 31st May 2010; the successful candidates will be chosen by 30th June 2010.

The scholarships are known as “The Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation - Yoshitoki Chino Memorial Scholarships” to commemorate the late Mr Yoshitoki Chino KBE (1923-2004), former Chairman of Daiwa Securities Co Ltd, and founder Trustee and Vice Chairman of the Foundation. As part of the School’s MBA programme, one of the two business schools in Japan where the British scholarship winner may undertake a term of exchange study is Keio University, the alma mater of Mr Chino. The other exchange school in Japan is at Hitotsubashi University.
